Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh my. Like a scene from the wizard of Oz!  We visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park recently. I had been aware of the Polar Project that they have been running for a few years now, and thought I will go and get some Polar Bear images for my animal portfolio. I have to say both me and Clare, was really impressed. The four bears there, have got a 10 acre reserve that features several lakes, the largest one covers an area of 6,500 square metres, containing over 25.5 million gallons of water.

Me and Clare recently spent a week down in Somerset. This was our final trip away for 2017, so I am glad to say that I managed to get some great shots.  Last time I tried to photograph Clifton Suspensions Bridge I couldn't as it had scaffolding up.  Also visited Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral and the old lighthouse at Burnham-on-Sea.

Monkey World

Monkey World in Dorset has been somewhere we have been meaning to visit for some time now. Its great to know that all the Monkeys there have been rescued from around the world and for a ticket price of just £12,  its a worth while cause.

Just got back from a visit to Weymouth. We got really lucky with the weather and was able to get some great images. Some of the best ones were taken on the Isle of Portland.

Royal International Air Tattoo 2017

Spent the day at RIAT.  While the weather wasn't as good as I'd hoped, I still managed to get some good shots (and sunburnt for my troubles)

Dudley Zoo 2017

Anyone who know's me will tell you, when i'm not out shooting weddings i'll be out photographing wildlife images. That's why this Sunday me and my lovely wife Clare spent the day at Dudley Zoo.

Venice was the main reason for our recent travels around Italy as it's been on the bucket list for a while.  I got some amazing shots and we got to enjoy a trip in a Gondola, well it is Venice after all...

Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of its most iconic sights is the Duomo, a cathedral with a terracotta-tiled dome. The Ponte Vecchio bridge built for traders in medieval times, still houses shops. Now the shops are mostly jewellers, which grabbed Clares attention staight away.

Just come back from the Eternal City, we were overwhelmed with the beautiful architecture and history of Italy's capital.  I finally got to take photo's of the Colosseum that show it in all its fine glory.  We had lovely sunny weather which helped.

For years now my wife as been telling me for great architectural photos we need to go to the beautiful city of Oxford, and as always she was right. A brilliant place if you want to practice you panning shots as well. Everybody rides into the center on bicycles.

Stowe House & Gardens

On the journey back from Oxford we detoured to Stowe. Huge, beautiful gardens that you really need to go and see to appreciate how picturesque this place is.  I love the reflections in the water, it was a little overcast, shame it wasn't a brighter day.

Croft Castle & Berrington Hall

Finally got to use our National Trust passes that were kindly bought for my birthday.  We travelled over to Leominster to visit Croft Castle.  I was hoping to see some deer but settled for young calves and their mom's!  Very cute. We then carried on to Berrington Hall and found some lambs. Spring is here.

The Photography Show 2017

On the 18th of March l once again attended the Photography show at the NEC in Birmingham. As per usual it was great. I got to watch some of the photographers that inspired me to get into this bussiness, do their stuff. Also got some great shots of my own.

Wild Arena

Last Sunday we travelled to Liverpool to visit our friends at Wild Arena for a day of macro photography.  Like I said before, I only used to use my macro lens for wedding ring shots, so it was good to use it and get up close to some exotic animals.
